Only 5 %. That is what differentiates a good track from a great track.
That 5 % is tremendously hard to hear, but most important, it’s very difficult to make the necessary adjustments to reach it. You may be making changes believe you are correct but in reality you are destroying your own song instead of improving it! It’s very easy to get lost when you are so close to a professional sound.
When I was close to sounding pro I thought I was good enough but the reality was that I wasn’t signing to the labels I wanted to. Nobody told me what I was missing but the results where not coming. Gladly, I looked for professional feedback and it helped me improve that little extra 5% that my songs were missing. In my case it was the kick drums and the groove in my tracks, and it changed me into a better producer. From my experience, at first it was barely noticeable, until the professional that was hearing my tracks, Kevin de Vries, taught me what I was missing. And from then I have never had issues with my kicks.
Now ask yourself:
- Do you have a promising track with potential to become a worldwide hit? It must be polished to perfection. It’s worth it.
- Do you know when to close your track and call it finished? Or you think it can be improved a bit further? But in which direction would you go? Its already pretty good no and nobody tells you the truth? Or maybe they advise you wrong and your music becomes worse?
- Do you know if your song structure is playable by a DJ? Maybe it’s the reason why no one plays its around? Do you know what makes a good song structure or when would the DJ mix it in and out?
- Would you like to have a second opinion on any aspect of your tracks?
We are here to help you improve, to provide an in-depth, constructive analysis of your track.
In ELIXIR we have partnered with top producers in electronic music to help you.
I’m talking producers with Dj experience that know if a track works well on the dance floor by listening it to 10 seconds and before even playing it.
And by the way, also A&Rs of labels have this skill developed, what a coincidence they are both gatekeepers you have to cross if you want to make it as an artist!
With our “Track Feedback” service you will:
- Transform the quality of your music, forever.
- Catch the ears of established Djs and have them playing your songs in big crowds not in shitty bars.
- Make industry connections and go backstage because of your music, not your boobs.
- Land gigs you couldn’t imagine. Yes, it has also happened to me.
- Land better labels, as you have great music on top of a playlist to offer them!
- Check your low end in good monitors and see if it is driving the floors or exposing the dj mixing the track. You never want to expose a DJ that supports your music, and worse, you don’t want to expose you mixing your track against another good one just to empty the dance floor!
- Learn when your song is ready for mastering or needs some work. We will tell you what to do.
- Verify the groove of the track is working and not slowing it down.
- Confirm that your synths are dynamic and wide or they sound like a broken flute through a metal can.
- Verify you are extracting the whole potential of the track or leaving quality on the table.
- Confirm that your song doesn’t suck and that you are not releasing out an amateur track but a professional one.
HOW does it work?
We will listen to the track several times with great detail in a listening environment we know. We will be tacking notes with things that caught our attention.
We will listen again the core areas of your song and describe them in a word document with the following:
(esta parte molaria hacerlo como que se fuesen montando encima de otras imágenes o algo y subgrupos)
- Song structure, playability by DJs
- Low end.
- Groove, movement.
- Musicality, synths, tension
- Technical issues: compression, distortion, mono compatilibity, levelling, clarity, depth, etc
- Recommendations (only in premium track feedback)
- Techniques and plugins (only in premium track feedback)
- Final comments
All feedback is always constructive, very specific and we guarantee that you will improve for your next productions. Value is assured.
